CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Weekend tributes and celebrations in the Lowcountry will honor the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Sunday, Morris Street Baptist Church in downtown Charleston will host the 43rd annual Tri-County Ecumenical Service at 4 p.m. Retired U.S. Ambassador and Charleston native James Gadsden will be the keynote speaker.

The Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church All-Male Inter-generational Choir and Divine Strength Chamber Ensemble will perform.

Then on Monday, a parade in downtown Charleston will honor the civil rights leader.

The parade begins at Burke High School at 11 a.m. and ends at Marion Square.

After the parade, there will be a Youth Speakout and Poetry Slam.
