CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Two great white sharks are pinging off the coast of South Carolina and Georgia, according to OCEARCH. Katharine pinged off Charleston and Mary Lee off the coast of Savannah.

At 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Katharine was tracked in the Atlantic Ocean far off Charleston's Coast. A ping is determined when the shark's dorsal fin breaks the surface of the water and transmits a signal to a satellite overhead.

Katherine is  about 14 feet long, and weighs 2,300 pounds. Mary Lee is nearly 16 feet long and weighs 3,500 pounds.
