'Weird Al' Yankovic to play the PAC in August

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Things will be getting weird at the North Charleston Coliseum Performing Arts Center this summer, when "Weird Al" Yankovic brings his repertoire of song parodies to the PAC on August 9.

The announcement came Tuesday when the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter released the tour stops for his 2015 Mandatory World Tour, which will hit 100 cities throughout North America, Europe and Australia.

A special pre-sale will be held at weirdal.com starting Tuesday, January 27 at 10 a.m., with tickets going on sale to the general public on Friday, January 30 at 10 a.m.

In addition to writing original music, Weird Al has been rewriting popular songs and turning them into hilarious hits since the 1970s. Some of his classic rewrites include "Like a Surgeon," "Smells Like Nirvana," and "Amish Paradise."

Weird Al released videos of several new song parodies last year for the release of his 14th studio album Mandatory Fun, which includes tracks of Pharrell's "Happy" ("Tacky"), Lorde's "Royals" ("Foil") and Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" ("Handy").
