SCE&G: Crews restoring power after Mt. Pleasant outage

MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

Representatives with SCE&G say crews are working to restore power to customers in Mt. Pleasant after an outage Thursday morning. 

Officials say the outage occurred around 7:30 a.m. along Johnnie Dodds Blvd. between Houston Northcutt Blvd. and Bowman Rd., leaving roughly 2,300 customers without power. 

Crews have been working to make repairs. As of 8:10 a.m., around 300 customers were still without power, according to an outage map. 

No word at this time on what caused the outage, or when power is expected to be restored.

    The Live 5 Weather team is declaring Monday a FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY because of the potential of heavy rain and potential isolated flooding.
