Comcast relocates customer service facility to N. Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Comcast opened a new customer service center on International Boulevard Thursday, replacing its older Leeds Avenue counterpart.

The new Xfinity Customer Service Center, a 5,000-square foot space at 5037 International Blvd., is the first of Xfinity's newly-designed locations to open in the area, according to Comcast spokesman Alex Horwitz.

"With its unique design and modern technology amenities this service center is the only one of its kind across our entire southern footprint, something we think customers will benefit from and appreciate," Comcast Regional Senior Vice President Doug Guthrie said in a statement.

The center is designed to provide "an interactive way" for customers to experience products and services, the company said in a statement. Customers will also have the option to pay at kiosks. The new center features 10 service counters, an iPad "bar" with interactive product demonstrations and dedicated areas that showcase Comcast's suite of products and apps, the statement said.

The older service center, located at 4400 Belle Oaks Dr. in Charleston is closing effective immediately, the statement said.
