Moon says deputies recovered a 53' enclosed trailer, valued at approximately $30,000, used to haul a dragster, along with a stolen 1997 Chevrolet C-3500 truck used to tow it. Those items were recovered in the Lebanon area of Berkeley County on Jan. 21, the day after the trailer and its cargo were reported stolen from a Ladson residence.
Deputies say that did not find the $30,000 dragster stored in the trailer was not found.
The Chevrolet truck had been reported stolen from Fanelli's Auto Sales in North Main Street in Summerville, Moon said.
The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at a State Road address in Summerville on Sunday, where the dragster and several other stolen items were found.
Deputies say they also found an enclosed trailer reported stolen from Georgetown County and a Polaris Ranger four-wheeler reported stolen from the Cottageville area of Colleton County.
The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office assisted Berkeley County in the investigation, Moon said.
Berkeley County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Rick Ollic said more arrests are expected in the case as the investigation continues.
