WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a Charleston County man was arrested after he assaulted two women and a police officer after smashing in a wall at a home in West Ashley.
On Saturday morning, police responded to a home on Raoul Wallenberg Boulevard regarding an assault.
The victim said the incident started when her boyfriend, 24-year-old Jonathan Ravenel, became angry over a text message she had received from a previous boyfriend.
According to the victim, Ravenel then punched a hole in the bathroom and left the residence.
The victim told police that Ravenel returned to the home and kicked in the front door. A police report states Ravenel then went into the bedroom and kicked the victim in the head and shoved her into a wall.
The victim's roommate said when she placed herself between the victim and the suspect to stop the assault, Ravenel slammed the roommate's head into a lamp and her back into a nightstand, then threw her into a bed.
A witness said when she told the suspect she was calling the police, Ravenel took off.
Police say Ravenel was eventually arrested following a traffic stop, and was charged with assault on a police officer while resisting arrest.
In addition, Ravenel faces charges of second-degree criminal domestic violence, first-degree assault and first-degree burglary.
