CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

A pair of suspects Charleston Police had been looking for in connection with an attempted armed robbery and burglary at a Reid Street apartment have surrendered to police.

Blanton Johnson, Jr., 35, of Johns Island; and John McKnight, 26, of Charleston, turned themselves in on Sunday, according to police spokesman Charles Francis.

Johnson is charged with three counts of attempted armed robbery, first degree burglary and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. McKnight is charged with three counts of attempted armed robbery and first degree burglary, police say.

One other suspect, Davnis Frazier, 21, of Charleston, was arrested on Jan. 30, and is charged with three counts of armed robbery, first degree burglary and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Police say that on Dec. 5 at approximately 11:55 p.m., the three forced their way into the apartment and demanded money from everyone inside the apartment, but left without getting any money.

Evidence recovered during the investigation led to the identification and arrest of the suspects, Francis said.

The investigation is ongoing.
