CCSD: Memminger students must be picked up because of CofC bomb threat

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Parents of Memminger Elementary School students will have to physically pick up their children at school today, school district officials say.

The decision was made because of "the unresolved bomb threat at the College of Charleston," according to Charleston County School District spokesperson Erica Taylor.

Signatures will be required at the time of pickup and students will only be released to parents or persons listed on their emergency card. The sign out process began at 2:45 p.m., Taylor said.

The district also canceled Tuesday's Kaleidoscope and Wings after school programs, Taylor said.
