BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County deputies have arrested a 15-year-old after investigators found stolen Stratford High School equipment behind a home in Ladson.
Officials with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office say they made the arrest after receiving information that stolen property was behind a home on Oxford Road in Ladson.
A John Deere Gator valued at $12,000 and a tow-behind barbecue grill valued at $4,000 were found behind the home partially covered by tarps.
Investigators say a juvenile who lived at the home was apprehended and charged with felony-level receiving or possessing stolen property.
BCSO authorities say a subsequent investigation revealed that the equipment had been stolen from Stratford High School. In addition, deputies say a Bad Boy zero turn lawnmower valued at $12,000 was also stolen from the high school, but has not been recovered.
If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of the mower you are asked to call the sheriff's office at (843) 709-4412.
Detectives said the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected in the case. The juvenile was transferred to the custody of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.
