GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - South Carolina Highway Patrol officials are investigating after a fatal car crash happened in Georgetown county early this morning.
Officers say the crash happened around 12:35 a.m. on SC 261 near Company Road.
Officials say the first car, a 1996 Ford SUV, was driving east, and the second car, a 2005 Ford SUV, was driving west, when the second car drove over the center line and collided with the first car.
Officers say the driver of the first car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say the driver of the second car was taken to a local hospital.
The severity of his injuries is not yet known.
