NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police say a 19-year-old male was arrested over the weekend after he was caught with his pants pulled down under covers with a young child following an alleged sexual assault.
Daquan Raheem Tisdale, of Hanahan, was arrested early Monday morning and charged with Criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 11.
North Charleston police responded to a call of a sexual assault involving a minor that occurred Sunday around 11:20 p.m. at an apartment on Sieberling Road.
The victim's mother told police her male child, whose age is not listed in the incident report, was at her sister's apartment.
The report states the sister walked into the living room to find Tisdale and the victim completely covered by a blanket. She reportedly pulled the cover off the two, revealing the suspect and victim both had their pants around their ankles and their genitals exposed. She says she immediately called her sister, who called police.
Police say Tisdale claimed the child pulled his pants down and attempted to perform a sexual act on him. Tisdale admitted he was sexually aroused during the incident, officers say.
Investigators spoke with the child, who told police Tisdale pulled a cover over them while they were laying in the living room. Tisdale then pulled down the victim's pants before pulling down his own, the victim said.
According to the report, the victim then explained to police how he was sexually assaulted by Tisdale.
When asked if Tisdale ever attempted to do similar things on previous occasions, the victim said "yes," the report states.
The victim was taken to MUSC for further inspection.
Tisdale was transported to the North Charleston Detective Bay for more questioning, and later transferred to the Charleston County Detention Center.
