WEST ASHLEY SC (WCSC) - Charleston investigators say a 48-year-old Georgetown man has been charged for an armed robbery at the Citadel Mall.
The Charleston Police Department have issued arrest warrants for Stanley D. Moultire on charges of armed robbery and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Moultrie is currently being held in the Georgetown Count Jail for a similar armed robbery case.
CPD officials say Moultrie is wanted for a Jan. 30, 2015 incident when a man entered Journeys at Citadel Mall and asked to try on a pair of shoes. The man then pulled out a knife and demanded money from the clerk.
He left the store with the money and a shoe from the display rack.
An investigation by Detective Dan English revealed that similar armed robberies had occurred in Georgetown and Myrtle Beach.
English then contacted the Georgetown PD and also learned that a vehicle used in the Georgetown armed robbery matched the description of the vehicle used in the armed robbery at Journeys.
A search warrant was executed at the suspect's home and evidence was recovered that linked him to the armed robbery at Citadel Mall.
Police are continuing the investigation.
