MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley County Prosperity Center hosted its first-ever Veteran's Appreciation and Information Fair Saturday.
The expo, held at Unity Park on East Main Street in Moncks Corner, offered benefit information, a financial literacy workshop, and free tax preparation.
Organizers with Trident United Way said today's fair was only the start of their efforts to extend even more services to Lowcountry veterans.
"This fair was kind of our launching point for that," Trident United Way's Kera Moore said. "We wanted to bring together a diversity of veterans services organizations in the community to show them what we can offer here in the Moncks Corner area."
Among the representatives lending support were Goodwill, the Ralph H. Johnson Medical Center, the Palmetto Warrior Project, and many others.
The Prosperity Center offers resources just like this for the entire community all year long. For a look at other events hosted through the Berkeley Prosperity Center and Trident United Way, visit http://www.tuw.org/.
The Prosperity Center will host another fair for veterans in Dorchester County on March 28 at the Goodwill Job Links Center on Old Trolley Road.
