Charleston mayoral candidates to discuss priorities for the city

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The race to become the next Mayor of Charleston will take on new form Monday, as the seven candidates come together to highlight their priorities for the future of the city.

The event is called, "A vision for Charleston," and is put on by a number of local non-profits. Coastal Conservation League, Historic Charleston Foundation, Charleston Moves and the South Carolina Community Loan Fund felt that with nine months to go from the big election, now is a good time to get to better know the candidates.

Laurin Manning, with The Coastal Conservation League, said this will be the first of many meetings to come.

The event will be at the Francis Marion Hotel in downtown Charleston. Check-in is at 11 a.m., and the program runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are sold out.
