Charleston police: Man wanted for assault in custody

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police say a man wanted for an assault is now in custody.

Officials with the Charleston Police Department announced Wednesday night that 51-year-old Donald Oswald Sheppard, Jr. was arrested.

Sheppard was wanted on a charge of first degree criminal domestic violence in connection with a Feb. 12 assault, according to Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis.

Police say Sheppard has a lengthy criminal history of narcotics and violence including the use of knives.
