South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 22 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry, announced today that forward Brandon Wong has been assigned to the team by the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL) from the Evansville IceMen of the ECHL. Forward Braden Pimm has been recalled to the Hershey Bears (AHL) and reassigned to Evansville.
Wong, 28, led the IceMen in points (39), goals (16) and assists (23) in 50 games this season. Last season, the Victoria, British Columbia, native skated in Denmark and Sweden totaling 36 points (21 goals, 15 assists) in 36 games. Before departing for Europe, Wong spent the previous three seasons with the Stingrays' in-state rivals, the Greenville Road Warriors, acquiring 161 points (76 goals, 85 assists) in 185 contests.
Pimm, 25, has 35 points (18 goals, 17 assists) in 45 games with the Stingrays this season.
