Suspect arrested in alleged downtown Charleston sexual assault

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police say a 52-year-old man wanted in connection with an alleged rape in downtown Charleston has been arrested.

Robert Lee Taylor was taken into custody Monday, and charged with criminal sexual conduct first degree.

Police say Taylor was wanted in reference to reports of a sexual assault that occurred on January 27 at a residence along Norman Street.

Taylor is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.
