The driver of a van that crashed into the back of a school bus in Berkeley County Wednesday morning is facing charges, according to the Highway Patrol.
The driver will face a charge of driving too fast for conditions according to Sr. Trooper Hannah Wimberly.
The accident occurred at around 6:15 a.m. on S. Live Oak Drive near Oakley Road in Moncks Corner. Southbound lanes of S. Live Oak Drive were closed while crews responded to the scene.
The bus was at a complete stop when the van hit the back of it, Wimberly says.
The driver of the school bus said no children were on the bus at the time of the incident. The bus driver was not injured.
Troopers say three people were inside the van and authorities had to rip the doors off the van to get the occupants out. All were transported to the hospital.
