CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Charleston Police Department say there may be a connection between one case where a woman was groped and another where a man exposed himself.
Police say the first incident happened at 7:11 p.m. on Feb. 21 in the area of 149 Smith Street.
In this case, the victim was walking her dog north on Smith Street towards Radcliffe Street when the suspect, described as a black male, 6-foot tall, wearing a black beanie and glasses, approached her and asked to pet her dog.
to police, the suspect then grabbed the victim inappropriately and walked off.
The second incident occurred at 11 a.m. on Feb. 25 in the area of 80 Pitt Street.
The victim was walking northbound on Pitt Street from Duncan Street when an unknown black male between 30 to 40 years of age, 5'10" to 6'0" tall, with a large build wearing glasses, was walking behind her and began to talk to her.
When she turned around, police say the suspect exposed himself to her.
The Charleston Police Department in conjunction with the College of Charleston Public Safety are continuing the investigations.
