Police searching for suspect in Game Stop armed robbery

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Authorities are searching for a man who fired shots during an armed robbery at a North Charleston game store Thursday night.

North Charleston police responded to the Game Stop store on Dorchester Road just before 8:30 a.m.

A store employee told police a man wearing khaki pants and a gray hoodie-style shirt pulled up over his mouth. The employee said the man brandished a a revolver and demanded money from the cash register and safe.

The victim told police the man fired his gun into a display case, but when the glass would not shatter, he demanded the employee hand over a PlayStation 3 game console and two white iPad tablets from the case.

Police say he took the items and left the store.

Police set up a perimeter to search for the man and brought in K-9 officers, but he was not located.
