Two suspects in Georgetown armed robbery arrested

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office says two suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery at the Dollar General on North Fraser Street Thursday night have been arrested. 

Deputies say the two suspects entered the store with a hand gun and demanded money from an employee around 9:15 p.m. The suspects then fled into the woods behind the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured in during the robbery.

Georgetown County Sheriff's Deputies took the suspects into custody on Highway 701.

    Activists say they will accept "no more excuses" from lawmakers who fail to pass stricter gun laws. The "NoMoreExcuses" movement was sparked by the Feb. 14 school shooting in Parkland, Florida, in which 17 people died at at Stoneman Douglas High School. The group held a news conference in Summerville Friday afternoon. It called on people to sign up to go with them to Columbia to petition lawmakers to act toughen gun laws in South Carolina.
