Suspect charged in CVS Pharmacy robbery

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - A suspect is in custody in connection with a robbery at a pharmacy in North Charleston early Tuesday morning.

Police say 25-year-old Charles Tool, of Summerville, has been charged with robbery. He is being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center.

North Charleston police were called out to the CVS at the corner of Ashley Phosphate and Dorchester roads around 4 a.m. for reports of a robbery.

Employees told police a male entered the store, approached the pharmacy counter, and handed the clerk a note demanding specific pills. After receiving the pills, the suspect fled the store.

North Charleston police and Dorchester County deputies tracked Tool to a residence on Reserve Way in the Kings Grant subdivision where he was taken into custody, officials say.
