CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston and Berkeley County School Districts scheduled make-up days for last week's weather-related school closings.
Students in Charleston County schools will report to school on Friday, March 27, which had originally been scheduled as a teacher work day and had been set aside on the academic calendar for such instances, district officials said.
Charleston County teachers will be required to use a sick day, vacation day or a personal day to make up for the Feb. 24 school day missed because of the weather.
Berkeley County students will make up the day on Friday, March 20. The Berkeley County School Board voted Tuesday night to set that date after conducting a poll of district employees to select either that date or April 6. The board said an overwhelming majority chose March 20, which was already on the calendar as a possible make-up day.
April 6 will remain a teacher work day for Berkeley County schools.
So far this year, Berkeley County School District has had one day off because of inclement weather and two, two-hour delays.
