Carowinds shows off test run footage of Fury 325

CHARLOTTE, NC (WCSC) - Carowinds has released footage of the first test run of Fury 325, the world's tallest and fastest giga coaster.

Fury 325 will carry riders 325 feet into the sky and send them barreling through the track reaching speeds of approximately 95 mph. And at 6,602-feet-long, Fury 325 is the longest steel coaster in North America.

Although the ride is not set to open until Spring of this year, Carowinds gave thrill-seekers a first look of Fury 325 in action Wednesday night, releasing video of its test run on Facebook.

Less than 12 hours after being posted, the video had been viewed just over 300,000 times.

According to the amusement park, Fury 325 "will simulate the wild, daring and spontaneous flight of the hornet," whipping riders through the nearly three-and-a-half minute long attraction full of sharp turns and steep drops at blistering speeds.
