Prohibited water zones for Cooper River Bridge Run

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - The Coast Guard has released information on zones of waters which the public will be prohibited from entering during the Cooper River Bridge Run on March 28. 

Officials released a map showing areas where people and vessels will be prohibited from entering, transitioning through, anchoring in, or remaining within the safety zone unless authorized by the captain of the Port of Charleston or a designated representative. 

The safety zone will create a regulated area encompassing a portion of the harbor, including all waters of the Cooper River, and Town Creek Reaches encompassed within the following points: 

32 degrees 48' 32" N/079 degrees 56' 08" W, thence East to 32 degrees 48' 20" N/ 079 degrees 54' 20" W, thence South to 32 degrees 47' 20" N/ 079 degrees 54' 29" W, thence West to 32 degrees 47' 20" N/079 degrees 55' 28" W, returning to 32 degrees 48' 32" N/079 degrees 56' 08" W
