Police investigating hotel robbery in Walterboro

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) -

Walterboro police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who allegedly robbed a hotel clerk at gunpoint Sunday morning. 

Police say the incident occurred around 11 a.m. at Ramada Inn, located at 1245 Sniders Hwy. in Walterboro. 

Hotel staff told police the suspect walked into the lobby and asked questions about room rates, and then exited stating he had to get his family. He later returned, allegedly pointing a gun at hotel staff demanding money and threatening to kill them if they called police. 

After receiving money, the suspect reportedly fled the scene.

No one was injured in the incident, officials say. 

Police have released photos of the male suspect, who is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds.
