CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office say one person suffered multiple stab wounds following an altercation in Hollywood Monday night.
Authorities say the incident happened in the 6100 block of Highway 162 around 8 p.m.
According to an incident report, the victim was walking down Highway 162 when he was approached by two male suspects. One of the suspects allegedly asked the victim, "What are you doing on our turf," before pulling out a metal shank and stabbing the victim in the stomach.
The victim told deputies he knocked the shank out of the suspect's hand, but the suspect then pulled out a serrated kitchen-style knife and sliced him in the neck, thigh, shoulder and hand.
During the altercation, the second suspect reportedly stood and watched before they both fled down the highway.
CCSO officials say the victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The sheriff's office is continuing the investigation.
