DANIEL ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - A controlled burn is underway on two small islands on the north end of Daniel Island Wednesday.
The burn began at 10:30 a.m. and is part of a forestry land management plan, according to Daniel Island spokesperson Julie Dombrowski.
The process is being professionally managed in coordination with the Charleston Fire Department, Dombrowski said.
Appropriate City, County and State officials have been notified.
There may be some smoke in the area over a period of 48 hours.
