NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston investigators say a 20-year-old suspected of shooting a man during an armed robbery has been charged with three other robberies.
Officers with the North Charleston Police Department arrested Reginald Lopez Summers on Wednesday and charged him with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
NCPD spokesman Spencer Pryor said Summers has also been charged with three other robberies that took place in the Charleston Farms community.
Summers' attempted murder charge stems from an incident on Wednesday when police responded to Larry Street for a shooting.
Officers found the 52-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Investigators were able to determine that the shooting happened 20 minutes prior to their arrival.
The victim was able to give a description to officers and reported the suspect had ordered him to give him money.
Investigators are continuing the investigation, and say additional charges may be brought against Summers.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have been victimized by Summers or have information on his involvement in crimes should contact police at 554-5700.
