CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - With temperatures warming up across the Lowcountry, Charleston County Mosquito Control is preparing to do battle with the imminent swarm of pesky bloodsuckers.
Officials with Mosquito Control will begin aerially spraying standing water for aquatic stage mosquitoes March 18. The sprayings, which will take place between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., will continue through March 23.
During the hours of the sprayings, the public may spot low-flying aircraft in Charleston County.
Experts say there are also a number of things you can do around your home that can help offset the amount of bugs. Preventative measures include pulling out that bug spray when outdoors, and getting your home prepared for those possible extra visitors.
This means getting rid of that free standing water you may have around your home, making sure your gutters are a clean, and raking up those leaves in your yard.
