FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCSC) - Folly Beach is warming up for summer with its 25th Annual Folly Beach Sea & Sand Festival to be held on April 10-11.
The largest, longest-running festival to be found on Folly Beach boasts a multitude of events and activities that the whole family can enjoy.
The festival features an activity zone with jump castles for the kids, carnival games to test your skills, face-painting, a text-to-bid silent auction, and local art and food vendors. The Sea & Sand Festival street party goes on all day.
On April 10, the festivities begin with the 2nd Annual Miss Sea & Sand Pageant at Folly River Park. Winners will be invited to show off their crowns and sashes throughout the year while participating in other events, including Follypalooza, Folly Beach Christmas Parade, and Taste of Folly and FollyGras.
The 5th Annual Coffin Island 5k Run/Walk/Skate will be held on April 11, beginning at 8:30 a.m. All participants are invited to carry on the tradition of dressing in their most swashbuckling pirate costumes.
A number of music artists will be performing live, including Dangermuffin, Cary Hudson & Guilt Ridden Troubadour, Kevin West Band, the Shakin' Martinis, the Folly Beach Bluegrass Society, and Bringers of the Dawn.
Folly Beach's main street, Center Street, will be closed during the event, starting around 8 a.m.
