Police release surveillance pictures from West Ashley bank robbery

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Charleston police released surveillance images from a Friday afternoon bank robbery in West Ashley.

Police say a man waring a gray zip-up hoodie with dark writing on the chest area, blue jeans and dark sunglasses robbed the NBSC at 1870 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. at around 1:30 p.m. Witnesses say he was a white male, approximately 5'11" and weighing 140 pounds. 

He fled the area with an undisclosed amount of money headed toward I-526. No injuries were reported.

This is the second armed robbery at this location within two months, according to Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis. The robber in the previous incident is similar in description, Francis said.
