Two young children and their grandmother were inside a home where a Dorchester County woman was shot to death early Monday morning.

Thirty three year old Traashia Clair Gillespie was shot and killed around 2:44 a.m. inside her home in the 1100 block of Flyway Road in Summerville.

According to Coroner Chris Nisbet, Gillespie died from a gunshot wound to the head.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Sources say Gillespie's mother, her three month old and seven year old were in the house when she was killed.

Andree Green, who lives two doors down said he heard screams coming from the house.

"Heard a lot of screaming. but that's it. After that, maybe ten minutes of not screaming and it got quiet," Green said.

"It might be time to put the house on the market and get out of here," said resident Michael Carillo. "I know it's everywhere but it's just hard to live around this."

Gillespie's death has been ruled a homicide, and the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting.

Deputies are continuing to search for the suspect.
