CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 55-year-old West Ashley business owner is behind bars following an investigation into allegations that he sexually assaulted a teen at his store in July 2014.
David Alan Evans was arrested Tuesday and charged with criminal sexual conduct first degree, kidnapping, and disseminating obscene material to a person under age 18.
According to an incident report, the victim, a 16-year-old male, alerted authorities on August 18, 2014 that he was held against his will and sexually assaulted by Evans on July 6 of that year.
Court affidavits state Evans picked up the victim and drove him to his business, Charleston Antiques, located at 1942 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. Once at the store, the victim claims Evans began talking to him in a "sexually aggressive manner."
"It's only you and me here, I want to have sex with you," Evans is quoted in affidavits as saying to the victim.
The victim told investigators Evans locked both exit doors, forced him into a chair, and ordered him to remove his pants. Evans then began showing the victim pornography, before allegedly forcing the boy to receive and perform oral sex, affidavits state.
Warrants for Evans' arrest were written on March 26 following an investigation into the allegations by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office and the South Carolina ICAC task force.
Evans is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.
