NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police are investigating a Friday night shooting that sent one man to the hospital.
Officers responded to the area of Marietta Street shortly before 6 p.m. for a reported shooting.
On scene, officers said they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his right leg.
Witnesses told police the victim attempted to get into a vehicle at the location to leave, and as he was getting into the car, a blue Pacifica came around the corner and someone inside started shooting.
The victim was transported to MUSC for treatment.
Police are continuing the investigation.
Authorities were seen taping off a car in the area as police investigated the shooting.
The fire department and EMS also responded.
