Deputies: One of three shooting suspects arrested after 10 hour manhunt

COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Colleton County deputies have arrested one of three suspects wanted in connection with a late Tuesday night shooting.

Deputies say Joshua Manigault, 29, was apprehended Wednesday morning in a swamp inside Donnelley Plantation following a 10 hour manhunt.

Manigault is believed to have been one of three suspects who fled on foot from a vehicle following reports of a shooting in Walterboro. The other two suspects have not yet been located.

Walterboro City Police were involved in a pursuit with the vehicle after its occupants were reportedly seen firing shots into a home at 1014 Carn Street. Police say three people inside the vehicle fled on foot after the vehicle lost control and wrecked in the area of Ace Basin Parkway and Green Pond Highway.

While Walterboro police gave chase, Colleton County deputies responded to a similar shooting at 62 Jared Street in Walterboro. Officers arrived to find a 54-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper left chest area.

The victim was transported by helicopter to MUSC and is in stable condition, officials say.

According to a release, four people at the scene of the shooting reported hearing gunshots coming from outside the home.

Colleton County deputies are working to determine if the two shooting are connected.
