CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Protesters in support of Walter Scott showed up at the Crosstown Thursday evening.
Around 6 p.m., Charleston police received word that a small group was protesting at the intersection of Coming Street and the Crosstown.
The group did not disrupt traffic, but were standing on the sidewalk holding signs and chanting.
Officials with the Charleston Police Department say no one was arrested.
Early Thursday afternoon, there were reports made over social media that a group of protesters were going to walk the Ravenel Bridge and block traffic.
Charleston police along with other agencies closed down the pedestrian walkway to the bridge, on both ends, for a few hours this afternoon as a precautionary measure.
Police say no protesters showed up at the bridge.
