CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police say a smoke grenade resulted in the closure of multiple lanes on the North Bridge in West Ashley Monday morning.
Multiple law enforcement agencies were called to the scene around 8 a.m. after a citizen reportedly saw a smoke grenade on the sidewalk near North Bridge Park heading towards North Charleston.
The smoke grenade was not ignited, officers say.
Police say two lanes of Sam Rittenberg Blvd. were temporarily closed while crews removed the smoke grenade.
City of Charleston Police and the Charleston Fire Department, along with North Charleston and Saint Andrews Fire Departments responded.
