DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Fire crews battled a blaze for more than 3 hours at a cement plant in Harleyville Tuesday morning.

Officials with Dorchester County Fire say the fire started at 6:17 am at Giant Cement Company, located at 654 Judge Street.

They say the blaze spread up a major silo, which made it difficult to contain.

Orangeburg County, Colleton County, North Charleston, Summerville and Old Fort Fire Departments assisted Dorchester County fire departments, officials say.

No injuries were reported and the cause is unknown at this time.
