NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

North Charleston police are investigating an early morning shooting outside a club on Rivers Avenue that left one man injured.

Officers say the shooting occurred just before 1:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Honey Beez in the 4500 block of Rivers Avenue.

According to a security guard at the scene, the victim was leaning into the driver's window of a Chrysler 300 when he heard two to three gunshots from inside the car. The victim then fell back yelling he was shot.

Officers say the guard drew his gun and ordered the driver to show his hands, but the driver sped off firing two more shots in the direction of the guard, who returned fire.

The victim was transferred to MUSC.

Police say the suspect's vehicle is a burgundy or red Chrysler 300 with factory rims, dark window tint, and chrome window trim.
