COLUMBIA, SC (WCSC) - More than 20 South Carolina combat veterans are taking the plunge into a paddling event.
They will be traveling almost 200 miles from Columbia to Charleston on a journey that will last for eight days.
Their purpose is to raise awareness about the challenges military veterans face on a daily basis. According to organizers, they hope that the event will enable them to connect with others facing similar issues.
The river challenge concludes in Charleston on April 24.
