CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The National Weather Service canceled a tornado watch for Williamsburg and Georgetown Counties ahead of its original 11 p.m. cutoff. With that cancellation, all Lowcountry counties are now clear of a watch.
The watch issued for most of the Lowcountry, including Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties expired at 8 p.m. after a strong line of thunderstorms moved through the area.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for the formation of a tornado.
