FLORENCE, SC (WCSC) - Time is running out to cash in a $1 million winning Powerball ticket that was purchased in Florence last October.
Lottery officials say a million dollar Powerball ticket bought at Phoenix Mart on W. David McLoud Blvd. for the October 25 drawing will expire on Thursday.
The winning ticket matched all five white balls but missed the red Powerball, resulting in a $1 million payday. The winning numbers were 6, 10, 51, 54, 57, and Powerball 12.
The ticket holder has until April 23 to go to the Lottery's Columbia Claims Center to cash in, or the prize will be forfeited. In the event that the ticket goes unclaimed, the $1 million prize will go to fund education in South Carolina, lottery officials say.
The $1 million prize would be the largest to go unclaimed in the South Carolina Education Lottery's history, beating out a $825,000 winning ticket purchased in Belton in 2009.
