NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 34-year-old man was arrested over the weekend after police say he left a woman bloodied and beaten at an apartment complex in North Charleston.
William Thaddeus Graham, of North Charleston, was arrested Saturday morning and charged with first degree assault and battery.
An incident report states multiple witnesses saw a man, later identified as Graham, assaulting a woman outside an apartment building at 4020 Ohear Avenue just after 7 a.m.
Witnesses told North Charleston police they heard Graham yell, "[Expletive], where's my money? [Expletive], I'll kill you!" Graham was then seen stomping and kicking the victim in her head, face, chest and stomach areas.
Police reportedly arrived to find a group of people tending to the victim, who was laying on her side and covered in blood. The victim was unable to speak due to her injuries, the report states.
Officials say witnesses were able to provide a description of the suspect, along with a description of the vehicle he fled the scene in. Graham was located just before 7:55 a.m. running through a backyard, detained, and positively identified by one of the witnesses.
Police say the female victim was transported to MUSC in critical condition. A nurse said the victim was unable to speak due to possible facial fractures and internal bleeding.
Graham was released from prison Sunday evening after posting bail. His bond was set at $75,000.
