County Assessor's building cleared, streets reopened after bomb threat

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Deputies have given the all clear following a bomb threat Tuesday morning at the County Assessor's Office.

Deputies say an unknown person called in a bomb threat directed at the County Assessor's Office on Meeting Street just before 10 a.m.

The building was evacuated and searched by the Charleston County Bomb Squad, with no suspicious items being found.

Several streets that were blocked off, including Meeting Street at Broad Street and Meeting Street and Queen Street, have since been reopened.
