NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Detectives in North Charleston have released surveillance photos of a suspect accused of snatching a purse from a shopping cart at a grocery store last month.

Officials say the incident occurred at Harris Teeter on Dorchester Road on March 29 around 7:16 p.m. The victim, who had reportedly been shopping for approximately an hour, was attempting to pay for her groceries when she noticed her purse was missing from her shopping cart.

The purse contained the victim's wallet, several credit and debit cards, car keys, documents, and cell phone, an incident report states.

Detectives say a man was spotted on surveillance footage following women around the grocery store and attempting to take their purses.

The suspect is described as a white male between the ages of 18 and 25, with no facial hair and a shaved head. He was wearing a brown hooded sweat shirt with a DC skateboard logo, black shorts, and black skater shoes.
