Adams heads to runoff for Berkeley Co. Sheriff; Recount on Thursday

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Brian Adams is headed to a runoff next month for Berkeley County Sheriff and will find out on Thursday who he will face following Tuesday's Republican Primary.

Adams had a sizable lead Tuesday night with 23.75% of the vote, while Duane Lewis had 13.05% and Rick Ollic 12.31%.

An automatic recount will be held on Thursday morning to find out if Lewis or Ollic will face Adams in the runoff on May 5.

Voter turnout on Tuesday was 12.9%; officials say they expected 10-15% at the start of the day.
