CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

North Charleston police and a crew from SCE&G are working to restore power to 1,100 customers after a Wednesday morning accident.

A car struck a power pole near the I-26 Meeting Street exit shortly after 9 a.m., SCE&G says.

At approximately 9:20 a.m., SCE&G said via Twitter a wire was down across I-26.
