DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A woman has been charged with felony DUI in a Wednesday night head-on collision in Dorchester County that resulted in the death of a 58-year-old woman.
According to Highway Patrol, the two vehicle collision occurred around 10:20 p.m. in the 9900 block of Miles Jamison Road in Summerville.
Officials say 45-year-old Tammy Harris was traveling west on Miles Road when her 2004 Mercedes crossed into the east bound lanes and crashed into a 2003 Toyota.
The driver of the Toyota, identified by the Dorchester County Coroner's Office as 58-year-old Cindy Wolf, was transported to MUSC. The Summerville resident was pronounced dead at 12:01 a.m. as a result of injuries sustained in the wreck, Coroner Christopher Nisbet said.
Harris, who reportedly suffered minor injuries in the wreck, has been charged with felony DUI.
The accident remains under investigation.
